Ryan McDonald, National Account Manager 

I was born in Shreveport, LA, but have lived in Texas since two years of age. I attended school in Rome, Italy where I studied International Business & Foreign Politics. I then transferred to the University of North Texas where I received a degree in business management. During college, I managed a privately owned restaurant chain and developed skills for management and cost controls.

Prior to joining American Pharmacies in 2019, I spent 12 years working at AmerisourceBergen. For six years, I worked with ASD Healthcare as a retail specialty sales representative. My final six years at ABC were spent on the wholesale side as a sales executive. 

What I do for fun: Before having kids, I was an avid traveler. I am fortunate to have visited places all over the world to see and experience so many different cultures. Now I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching little league baseball and soccer. 

My experience working at American Pharmacies: I enjoy traveling to different regions of the country and learning about how independent pharmacy owners interact and provide a personal service and value to their community. It’s more than simply filling prescriptions. We know the true value independent pharmacies offer to their patients. Our entire purpose is to protect and help independents thrive so they continue that service. 

American Pharmacies has been far and above any other organization than I have ever been a part of. It’s a true family environment and the leaders wake up each day dedicated and focused on how we can better serve our members and heighten the impact of independent pharmacies throughout the country.
